He Adopted a Dog!

Well, what a surprise!  We got a new grand-dog.  Our son knows a co-worker who brings adoptable dogs to the area so he got in touch with the co-worker to see how all that works.  Personally, I was a little surprised that my son would want another dog so soon.  But I understand he is a single guy, living by himself and his Maggy was his other half {so to speak}.  And he needs company, a companion.  My son got onto the website of adoptable dogs and Gus was one of them.  Gus was being fostered in Oakton, Va.

On Easter Sunday, I video called my son to see how he was doing and when the video popped up my son had his camera pointed at the dog!  So that was the first thing I saw when he answered his phone. That’s why I was surprised when I saw him.  I am happy for my son.  There will be a name change from Gus to Franky.  My son is already training him to stay and shake and to stay off the furniture.

I’m sure there will be more pictures coming.  But for now, I’m glad there is enough room in my son’s heart for another dog.  But we miss Maggy so very much.

Blessings!

Surprise Visit Yesterday

Yesterday I had a surprise visit from my son.  I was getting some paper out of the closet and looked out the window.  I saw his police car parking in the driveway.  It's been awhile since he's been here.  That was a nice surprise.  When dh got home we went out to eat at Centrone's Pizza Place:
It has good pizza.  The son called his roommates to see if they wanted to meet us there and they did, so we had good company and a very nice time.  One of the roommates even paid the whole bill.  Now that was a very nice treat!!

We did get a little snow this morning according to dh.  But it melted very fast and by the time I got up there wasn't any on the ground.  Just fine with me because I want spring to be here.

Now I gotta get some washing done.  It never ends.

A Wonderful Surprise!

Monday I had a wonderful surprise.  My son showed up at the house to take me to lunch.  Since I am a night owl I was still in bed when I heard his footsteps racing down the hallway, then a knock on my bedroom door.  I am very proud of my son.  He has served two tours in Iraq and is now serving the public as a police officer.  He recently moved out of the house, hence the empty nest and I miss  his presence, but I think he stayed here at home as long as he did because he didn't want to leave me.  Well, at least that is what I'm gonna believe, anyway.  After lunch we went shopping; his sister's birthday is coming up and we were getting some ideas.  I was thinking afterwards one just never knows what a day brings.
