We went to dd's for dinner and then fireworks.

The Casey Anthony Case...my touch with fame
Who hasn't heard about the Casey Anthony case. I have been following it since Casey first got arrested. Last year, when dh, dd and me when to Orlando to go to Universal Studios I wanted to see the Caylee Memorial and the Anthony house. I know that some people see this whole case as crazy tourist attraction, but I believe it also brings awareness to child abuse. That's what one really has to remember. Caylee is the poster child of dysfunctional families and child abuse. So here are pictures I took when we went to the memorial site and the Anthony home.
As we pulled up to the site where Caylee's remains were found Jose Baez and Chaney Mason were getting out of Chaney's pickup truck. |
You can see they are checking out the place. |
Here's the path that goes back into the woods were Caylee's remains were found. |
Here's what the Anthony's home looked like in June 2010. |
My, That Was a Long Day...
Well, I didn't back to this blog the next day like I said, but here I am now! Here are some other pictures of our trip:
Dh had to make an air conditioning repair in the motorhome |
The motorcycle parade through town |
Here's dh in the parade |
Here we are at Mamasu's Pizza |
Here's the music hall were our services were held |
This is where Ruth Bell Graham is buried; Billy wll be buried next to her |
Taking a break and enjoy the peacefullness of the library |
We loved these bricks at the library..it looks like they are stitched together |
This was basically our trip. We so enjoyed it and dh really got some rest that he needed even though he drove the motorhome the whole time. I'm already planning our next trip!

We Went, We Are Home
I almost can't believe we are back home and have been since Tuesday. The anticipation of packing and going on a trip is so exciting (well, I guess when you do it for fun!), but the coming home, knowing your vacation and fun is over is kinda depressing. Because when you get home you gotta UNpack everything, wash all the dirty clothes and so on and so on. And that's what I've been doing for the past couple of days. I almost got all the clothes washed, food unpacked out of the motorhome and put away, things I bought has their places around my room. I even cleaned my bedroom and moved furniture around. Wow. I've been busy!
The first night we left, which was Sunday the 19th we drove from Maryland to Greensboro, NC. That's where we stayed at the campground. I might add here that we left our dog in the charge of my next door neighbor's. My dog is a year old and still is not housebroken. I'm about to pull out my hair, but we could not trust her in the motorhome with carpet. So, my neighbors said they would take care of her while we were gone. So we get to the campground Sunday night and everybody on that campground had a pet. I couldn't believe it because when you stay at these campgrounds some people have pets. I think that's the first thing I noticed when we finally set up camp and had time to relax. No only did they have dogs and cats, we saw one couple get a big bird out of the back seat of their car! That's when I wished I had my dog. However, I have 10 cats and there is one who is special to my heart and I really missed him, too. Here's a picture of us at that campground the first night:
My poor hair was a mess, but oh well. And here are a couple more pictures of the campground and the site we were on:
The second night we made it to our destination, but I'll tell you, the mountains were something to get up. I wasn't sure our truck was going to make it; well, I thought it would but was still scared. We were on small mountain roads, cliffs on the side, two lanes...and dh isn't the best driver in the world. But that's another story. The Riverbend Campground we stayed at in Hiawassee, GA was very, very nice. It felt like a restort. All the sites were level and graveled. The campground was very clean, lots of space between each site. I recommend Riverbend. Here's our site there:
The whole town knew the Christian Motorcyclists Association was coming to town. Here's a sign at the fairground:
It felt nice to be recognized..and that we were welcomed to their little town.
Tomorrow I'll continue our journey.

In About Nine Hours....
I hope I'll have internet service, but some campgrounds don't have it. Strange, I know in this day and age. But, it gives me time to read books; tons of which I need to get through.
So, I'll be on the road next time I check in!

Getting Ready to Head for Hiawassee, GA
Hi all! Dh and I are getting ready to pack the motorhome and head for Hiawassee, GA for our Christian Motorcyclists Association's National East Rally. It's a time of worship and praising the Lord! We also go out on motorcyce rides. We meet new people; we just have a great time. We'll be leaving on this weekend. We are gonna stop at the Billy Graham Library on the way home since we'll be going through that way. So I've been washing clothes and bedding. Next, I'll be cleaning the motorhome; vacuum and dusting and loading up the shelves with food.
We are planning on going to Arkansas for our CMA Leadership meeting, but we don't know if dh will have enough time off. Dd mentioned she'd like to go to Disney World so I was thinking that would make agreat vacation next year and so dh can save some time this year for next. I'll have sit down and figure it all out.
Dd is taking a counselling class for the local pregnancy center. I'm so excited for her. I really think she can talk to these girls coming in to the clinic, since dd is is still young and young girls will probably listen to someone near there own age.
The weather here has been very nice even though we've had a few thunderstorms at night. That's okay...I don't know why it makes one sleep better.
We got a small garden planted~peppers, cucumbers, watermelon, onions, etc. Can't wait for them to get to the eating stage!
I've been proud of myself this week. We did not go out to eat once. I have been cooking at home. I want to go through my recipe books and make some really good meals!
Gotta get some sleep.

My Purple Car
We heard from the dealership today about my car. Guess what? They said it needs a new engine put in it. Oh my gosh! This is the second new engine. And, of course, it's gonna take at least two weeks. Crazy! I'm just at a lost of words. Seriously, but I refuse to throw in the towel. Men are rebuilding cars all the time, so why can't the dealership mechanics put an engine in my car and make it work?

The Car Saga Continues...
This is just an unbelievable story. I went to lunch with an old friend on Monday. She lives about 30-45 minutes from me. I drove my car to her house for lunch and then we took her car out to eat and shop. When we got back to her house I had to leave because I was meeting my son for dinner. I got into my car and drove home. I had 30 minutes before I had to meet my son, so it gave me time to take the dog out, freshen up and I'd be off. When I got back into my car I started it, then was backing up when I heard a 'bump'. I got so scared because sometimes my cats lay under my car, but I did not see any under the car. I stopped the car, turned it off, put it in gear (it's manual) and got out to look under and around my car just to make sure there was no cat. There wasn't. I got back into my car, turned the key and it make a terrible noise. I turned it off. I started it again and guess what? It wouldn't start. Dead as a door nail. I cannot believe this. My poor dh had to tow it to the dealership this morning which was no easy feat. Since the car wouldn't start he had to manual use a piece of equipment to pull it up onto the car tow. I think I'm gonna have to be looking for a car soon. I can't afford payments and it's getting ridiculous that I can't depend on my car to work. Now, once again, for the third time in seven months I am without a car. It's frustrating because I can't get my errands done during the day.
This is my life in the pits.

Yes, I'm Still Here
I know, it's been awhile, but I'm still around. I've been busy and lazy. With the wonderful weather we've been having I've been outside, too.
I did get my car back finally. The crazy story with has been, well, crazy. After I drove the car back to the dealership because I felt they didn't fix the steering, we were told the next day that my car needed the rachet pion replaced. I wanted to know why the dealership didn't tell me that to begin with. My husband took my car to a mechanical shop near where he works. They looked at my car and said all it needed was the bushings replaced. I was so mad because if they need to to do a front end alignment again I was going back to the first dealership and raise a little you know what. As it turned out, the shop that replaced the bushings didn't need to do another front end alignment. So I was very happy and they did fix the car and now my steering wheel is straight when I drive it and not turned halfway around.
We took the motorhome and drove to Delaware for our CMA rally. We stayed at a campground where we were the only visitors. That was so nice. No neighbors and it was quiet; the weather was nice, except it did rain one day, but wow, we couldn't have asked for a better weekend. We were able to do some sight seeing. We found a plantation to visit...very interesting. We were the only ones on the house tour so we got one on one information and questions answered.
Dh tilled up a patch of ground so that I can plant my 'garden' plants in. So far I planted, pepper, cucumber, squash, watermelon, canteloupe and I think that's all for now. I will probably find some more stuff.
Dh and I will be leaving for Georgia in a couple of weeks. Going to another CMA rally.
So until nex time...
